Merry Christmas

(Thursday 23 December 2010) by Jill's travels
Hey, we are still in Gothenburg at the Lisbergsbyn site, Im pretty sure this Company owns most of Gothenburg! They have the big amusement park and hotels scattered around the City including the Ship on the Marina. Our daughter Charlotte has flown out to stay with us over Christmas and we have our friends Penny and Paul coming to spent New Year.

We woke up to frost on the inside of the van yesterday although today the temperature has risen slightly, infact, its warmer than in the UK, we hear. The snow though is still very deep and doesnt look like it will ever melt. Charlotte and I went shopping but there were absolutely no bargains to be had, except for a pair of shoes each from Top Shop, hmm.

We like Gothenburg, for a City it has a real community spirit about it. We have watched a Christmas movie where it is projected onto a building in the City Centre where families and shoppers can stand and watch it. There is a singing Christmas tree where all the different choirs from the regions take it in turns to sing and people gather ice skate and drink glogg. Weve spent time at the Liseberg amusement park which is filled with Christmas markets just like the Tivoli but there are ice skating shows and a Theatre in the grounds here. We went ice skating yesterday which is a football pitch, it was good fun and realised my limits! Charlotte disowned me, she can be such a meanie.

The City is lit up with Christmas lights nothing like Dorchesters! ha. We are hoping to visit the Science Museum tomorrow, this place is huge and hope its worth the 12 admission.

A very Merry Christmas to you all and a healthy and happy New Year. Best wishes xxx
